Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most well-known actors of his generation,who has delivered powerful performances. The actor has gone from small roles and playing extras to prominent roles in award-winning blockbusters and commercial hits over the course of his career.
He has worked in diverse films- playing roles ranging from a pickpocketer in Munna Bhai MBBS, to a terrorist aide in the Anurag Kashyap film, Black Friday (2004). After which he got his first big break, in a lead role in Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016).
For his breakthrough role in Black Friday, he was nominated for the Best Film (Golden Leopard) award at the Locarno International Film Festival. Nawzuddin is the only Indian actor to receive a thumbs-up from the popular film critic Roger Ebert.
His recent releases include his role as a villain in Raees (2017), starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan and the role of an unlikeable teacher in Haraamkhor (2017). He has also acted in the immensely popular Indian thriller and a Netflix Original Sacred Games.

Siddiqui was honoured with the ‘Special Jury Award’ at the National Film Awards 2012, for his work in films– Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur, Talaash and Dekh Indian Circus.
He has received three Filmfare awards- Best Supporting Actor for The Lunch Box (2016), Best Actor In A Web Original Film (Male) for Raat Akeli Hai (2020) and Best Actor In A Web Original Film (Male) for Serious Men (2021).
Nawazuddin has received the IIFA awards for Best Performance In A Supporting Role (Male) for his work in Mom in 2018.
